AIDA 2 Freediver Course
Coming Summer 2026!
AIDA 2 is the foundational recreational freediving certification from AIDA International, designed for swimmers or snorkelers who want to safely explore breath-hold diving. The course blends theory, pool training, and open-water dives to cover freediving physiology, relaxation and breath-hold skills, equalization, finning and duck-dive technique, buoyancy control, and buddying and rescue procedures. Graduates gain the skills and confidence for safe freediving with a buddy to shallow to moderate depths (typically 12 to 20 m), along with a certification card recognized by many dive operators.
Location
Our training sessions take place at the beautiful and deep Lake Whatcom, accessed from Sudden Valley. It’s a quiet spot with clear water and easy shoreline entry, offering an ideal environment for learning freediving skills. The location is approximately 20 minutes from downtown Bellingham.
